We have a flight booked half on points, half on cash that has gone down $55 a person. One of those people was my husband, other 3 were my kids. I would like to use the travel fund credits towards a one way flight in May for the kids and I (the funds expire in mid June and beginning of August) as my husband will be unable to go.

Is it possible to use his $55 travel funds towards my ticket? I'm pretty sure that he will not be taking a flight in the summer so they will be unused otherwise and it's not worth paying the fee to extend the expiry.

Also, if I book tickets for May and the prices go down, will I need to use those travel credits by June/Aug (the original expiry on the funds) or does it go by date I booked the ticket (so a year from today?)

The travel funds can only be used by the person on the original ticket. They definitely verify it. I was using mine for a new ticket last year and I had the new ticket under Debra A but the travel fund was under Debra. It errored saying it didn't match. So I had to take my initial out of the new reservation.

The date of the original expiry of the funds. That's why it sometimes is not worth it to use $10 or $20 in funds. Your new ticket will have the original expiry and if that ticket has a large drop, you may not have time to use it.

Thanks! Ok, what I am thinking of doing now is booking flight in May on cash but no travel funds, and making a long weekend trip to Disneyland (we're in Idaho, so it's closer/cheaper and will have APs) with the travel funds sometime before they expire since DH can get away for that. This will mean that if the fare drops on the May flight, I will have until Nov/Dec 2015 (depending on when I book) to use the funds versus June/Aug. We will be flying again in Oct and Dec so we will have opportunity to use them.
