I have money available for travel on SWA that says it expires on 11/15/06. I can't believe this but I want to fly from 11-12-06 to 11-17-06! Do you think they will let me do this. Anybody ever gone beyond the date by a few days and they allowed it? If I book it as a round trip flight will that work? I could just used the fund on the way down for my flight and my Mom's and then she can pay the difference on the return flight for me.

Any advice?

I'm pretty sure the credit will be just fine if you're booking to travel before the credit expires. I don't think the return date matters. You could call SWA and verify this with them. They have some nice customer service reps and they even answer the phone without having to listen to several prompts.(at least it has been this way in the past).

Your flights definitely have to be completed by the expiration date. You will need to call the customer service # and ask the rep to extend your credit expiration.

If you have enough for 2 one ways, I would book both outbound flights with the credit, and as you said have your Mom pay for your return. This is the easiest way to do it. If you have money left on the credit, wait until the trip is over and call CS and they will put whats left on your credit card. I would actually pay for the return and have your Mom reimburse you. That way SWA will know you did take the trip and couldn't use the credits. They have done this for me in the past.

I agree with Poorman.......if you're booking the ressie for both of you simply use the credit for both tickets on the first leg of the trip and pay for the second portion. You will need to use the same cc you used to book the trip you received the credit for. I believe when using a Ticketless Travel Fund you need to key in the original ressie # and the name of the person whose cc was used. However, it is not necessary to use the credit for the person whose cc was used.....you can make the new ressie for which you are using the Ticketless Travel Funds in anyone's name.

What DonnaL suggests is very good. You can also get an extention -- You may be able to do this by phone, I have also gotten an extention at the airport.. I had a paper credit and they stamped it and wrote in the new date, extending it for 3 months.
