Yeah!!!! Have fun. I did the first MNSSHP on September 30th. It was so much fun.

Buffalo. First time in September for me. SW has curbside counters. Also, just FYI in case you don't know SW boards like a bus. When you are able to print your boarding pass at 12:01 am the day you leave you will be assigned an A, B or C. Families with small children and anyone else needing assistance board first, then A, B then C. There is no assigned seating.

Also, most airport area hotels allow you to park your car for "free" ....some up to 14 days with a one night stay. I've also heard that parking at the airport is reasonable.

Excuse me if you knew all this....just in case. Have a wonderful time. The parade and the fireworks at MNSSHP are amazing.

A small, but IMPORTANT correction to this:

SWA now allows you to print your boarding pass 24 hours prior to your departure. And computers, being the fairly literal things they are, will not accept 23 hours and 58 minutes. :)

Also, on your return trip, if you don't have the computer equipment in your hotel room, go to the Grand Floridian Convention Center, to their business rental office (go out the main entrance to the Grand Floridian, turn right and walk along the walkway to the main entrance way to the Convention Center, enter and turn right. The business center is the first door on the right.), and print off your return boarding pass from there. We did this, and they told us that there wouldn't be a charge to use their rental computers if you are simply printing off a boarding pass. If the policy has changed, the flat rate is $10USD for 15 minutes... well worth getting A-type boarding passes, imo.

We took the boat from MK and had a nice walkabout the resort, and then returned to the MK... maybe 45 minutes all totalled.

Can I come too Janet?? I've been back at work 4 days and already that's enough. :teeth:

Guess I'll have to wait for December.

No Excuses! Thank You! I live 10 mins from Pearson and usually can't get one of these great fares from Buffalo! Usually by the time I add all costs together not worth it to go thru Buffalo but this time! :cheer2: :cheer2:

DD had asked whether we were going to do MNNSHP again this year and I had said no but.........Don't need to ask me twice with prices like that!

Fiona ~ Why Not!LOL But I think Jim will want you to wait until December to go with him!LOL

I'm just gonna tell DD we are going shopping in Buffalo for the weekend! That way she has to pack an over night bag! Let's see if I can keep my excitement contained! :cloud9:

Good to know "Luke". Thanks, I had no idea that they changed it to 24 hours. Now I won't have wait up. Yeah!

Also, Pop Century printed my return boarding pass for me at the Front Desk last time.

This is even better than going to the business center. I think they're open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., which may be inconvenient time-wise.

We went to the business center to specifically use the rent-a-computer for business reasons, so it never crossed my mind to check at a Front Desk.

Please................ I have learned a whack of things here, just sharing the wealth!

Southwest only recently changed the check in to 24 hours before your flight. I think maybe the last week in September. Anyway it worked out great.

Also in Orlando Southwest has computers to check you in if you've purchased your ticket online. It's a different line from the regular checkin. You need your confirmation number or rapid rewards number to do it though but it's really quick.

If you fly Southwest don't forget to sign up for Rapid Rewards. To get a free flight you need 8 roundtrips within two years. With their great rates this is doable. :rotfl:

Due to fabulous SWA prices, I understand that for the most part that these trips are usually not planned until the last minute.
I wonder where people who plan these last minute trips to Disney usually end up staying?
The reason I'm asking, I am just thinking if a similar fare shows up for next October, I might take the kids to MNSSHP but since this would be a last minute trip (and therefore would have to be low budget) I wonder where I could stay cheap?
Thanks

In WDW?

Well I am staying on DVC points at SSR. I just bought after years and years of waiting until it was financially the right time. I am so excited about this trip because this was one of the reasons why I purchased.....to decide on a trip based on a low airfare and not have to worry about "$$$" for hotel. I didn't know how it would work because usually you have to plan DVC months in advance. But I was lucky.

Sorry off topic ...just excited that I am using DVC the way I always dreamed about. Cheap places and availability. I bet they would have availability in any one of the Value resorts at Disney. One trip I had a horrendous "night before Disney vacation starts" booking at an outside hotel walked out and made my way to Disney and thought there is no way that I can get in earlyat ASMo. No problem they had space.

There might be codes next year...who knows? Actually, I've heard CAA/AAA rates are even better if you can get them. But rack rate isn't bad this time of year at the Values.

If it is not onsite you are looking for I am sure that many people can advise to good cheap but clean places nearby. I've stayed at Hotel Royal Plaza at DD. It was nice. And I am sure many hotels/motels have deals to get people in at this time of year. I have seen many signs on the Irlo Bronson/192 promoting very low rates. There are places as low as 29.95 a night just ask about their reputation on these boards. I am sure that there is a mid-range place that has a great rep.

All the best to you.

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't be driving and therefore, would use DME (if still available) or Mears etc. So therefore, I guess I should stay on-site. Your right, I could possibly stay at a value (with a possible CAA discount) or perhaps book something through skyauction.com (as long as the resort had a good disney transfer bus). Or maybe rent points. But I think it would be hard to rent points at the last minute.

Thanks again for the info.

Just wanted to chime in that we also had no problems with the Front Desk at CSR printing out our Southwest Boarding passes in the wee hours this July. Very easy way to get those A's. I know I've read here of people having it done at other Disney Resorts. They seem very familiar with it.

riugirl, if you're not picky about WHICH resort & have CAA I'm sure you could pull together a last minute trip affordably. You can check on-line through CAA/AAA for availability too so could try different scenarios & get prices without calling CRO. If you ended up without affordable availability onsite for your entire stay perhaps you could get creative & stay on-site for some & then take a cab from some closer location somewhere in DisneyWorld/Dtn Disney/Disney Resort to a cheaper/available off-site resort with a shuttle. With a quick last minute trip by air perhaps you could keep the luggage down to 1 wheel-on each or something manageable with kids.

Good luck. Love those cheap Southwest fares!
