Southwest Sale Today Only

FYI: Today on the radio they were talking about how today is some kind of seasonal sale day for several airlines. Southwest is one. So I went back and checked and our flights in November each went down by about $10. ($20 off of $319 total) I had bought them with points. I went back and reselected the exact same flights and got 800 points back.

Go check it out if you have SW flights booked. IAD-MCO is cheap, but it could translate into bigger savings for families and/or other airports!

you have to cancel the original flight and then rebook.

I just went on, chose "change my flight" on the top right when you're looking at your flight, and it let me do it with points.

Mine did not make me cancel anything. I had the option to change it and my original flight was an option under that. I would be nervous about canceling entirely.

Nope. Mine let me re-choose the exact same flight at the lower points value and then I just had to confirm the choice. I was never without a booking.

yup- with SWA you just hit 'change' you never have to cancel to to rebook at a lower fare

I like booking with points, no credits to deal with, just get the points back. We even have my husband double booked for October, not sure what city he will be in at trip time. Will cancel one soon.

Bumping this, because SW is having another sale and I got 936 points off each of our flights down there for November. This is the SECOND time I've done it now, and have saved about 2,500 points. Check it out!
