So we're booked for our flights to MCO. I see a later flight leaving MCO went on sale and I would like to change to the later flight, but the flight going TO MCO is higher. can I just rebook the flight home at the discounted rate? Or will that negate my flight to MCO? Just wondering since I've never done this before.

Yes you can rebook just the flight home. And your arrival flight will be fine. When you go to the rebooking screen there is a checkbox for you to chose which flight you would like to rebook.

Remember you wont get your money back in the form of cash but rather they will issue you a travel credit good toward a future flight. It is only good for one year from the date of the purchase of the original ticketr. So if you booked your ticket on April 1, 2012 you have to complete your travel by April 1, 2013.
