Hi all,

I am hoping someone is more familar with the SW Rapid Rewards program than I am. Are rapid rewards only good for one person or can they be used on more than one person? I guess I'm trying to figure out if I converted all of my Amex points for RR credits could I buy a ticket for myself and then someone else using those credits in my RR account?

Thanks in Advance. This is the first time I've ever had enough credits for a free airline ticket or two. :thumbsup2

I recently received an award from them. The conditions state:

GIVE AWAY YOUR AWARD.
Simply find out the destination, travel dates, and times from your lucky recipient. Then follow the instructions at southwest.com or call Reservations to book the desired travel. Here are a few more things you should know:

You - not the person using your Award - will need to book the flight by visiting southwest.com or calling Reservations.

After you book the flight, provide the person who will be using your Award with the confirmation number and itinerary you receive.

At the time of reservation you will need to provide a credit card number to pay the government-imposed September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 roundtrip.

For account security reasons, we recommend that you never give out your password or other information about your Rapid Rewards account.

The person using your Award may change the destination, date, or time of travel at no charge prior to flight. If the name on the reservation changes, the itinerary will have to be cancelled and the Award will automatically be returned to your account. You will then have to rebook the trip.

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm still fuzzy though so maybe I will email them directly and then post for people with similar questions here. I guess I'm wondering if I am going too would I put both tickets in my name or could I put one in my name and one in my guests name - like all in one reservation.

Yes they can be split into one way fares for various people.... One award essentially becomes 2 one-way fares that don't even have to be used at the same time.

My husband used to fly SWA alot. DD and I would fly under his credits and then we'd pay for his fares (so he got more credits in his name)

Last May, we used an reward for DD and i to fly home. (we paid for the way down.) The return trip home was the most expensive leg so that's where we used the credits.

Don't put both ressies in your name if you're both flying together. One for you in your name, one for your companion in his/her name.
Since you are the RR member, you must make the ressie. Your friend can't.:)
