Ouch! Did you know that as long as you participate in one "qualifying earn activity" during the 2-year period, your points are safe? It's too late now, but just so others are aware: You can keep those points from expiring byTwo years. Mine just expired last week![]()
Ouch! Did you know that as long as you participate in one "qualifying earn activity" during the 2-year period, your points are safe? It's too late now, but just so others are aware: You can keep those points from expiring by
[*]Flying Southwest and using your RR account number on your ticket
[*]Buying RR points to add to your account
[*]Earning points through RR Dining
[*]Shopping through their online shopping portal
[*]Booking a hotel or car rental through the Southwest website and entering your RR account number.
I do emiles and e-rewards surveys for RR points. I add about 500 miles every couple of months and it costs me absolutely nothing!
Compared to other airlines, SWA makes it pretty easy to keep your RR points from expiring.
I believe you have 2 years before they expire.
Is there someplace where you can see what the expiration date for the points is?
You can also do e-miles surveys and once you hit $25 in rewards you can convert them to SWA points. I just did this and all you do is enter your RR acct number and the miles get added to your acct.

Or if you are a online shopper make your purchase through the RR shopping site located on the SWA web page and you can sometimes earn as high as 6 x the points per dollar spent! I believe right now HSN online purchases are 6X the $ spent. I do all my online shopping via the SWA site
Another RR question.... If I book my flight now and pay in dollars, can I convert it to use points once the points are credited to my RR account? I'm afraid in the time my points take to arrive the flight prices will go up.
If I book (with $ or points) and there is a sale (Birthday Sale) can I get a rate adjustment for this? Or are sales usually new bookings only?
