I have a different type of question. I learned that Southwest is now starting to participate in RAC. We have an upcoming trip where we would like to utilize this service on our way back home. My question is that we will need our daughter's car seat for the return trip to the airport in our rental car but are using a CARES harness on the plane and normally will check the car seat. What do we do in this circumstance? Can you check something in at the airport if you have already checked your luggage with RAC?

You could gate check it, that doesn't matter what you checked at the counter or where or if you even checked anything. That would probably be the easiest thing to do.
