Our DVD player has an old battery that does not hold a charge very long. Does anyone know if there is somewhere to plug in a power cord at the seats on Southwest flights? Probably a dumb question, but I thought I'd ask!
No, SWA planes to not have jacks to plug electronics in. There are plugs at the gates, but not on the planes. Depending on how long your flight is, you may consider getting a new DVD player. They are smaller, lighter, have longer battery life and are less expensive than older models.
A new DVD player will probably be cheaper then buying a new battery for your current player. Some of the more expensive units have a longer battery life.
Thank you! I know I will not be purchasing a new battery for this old machine, because they want $65 for it! So, once it's really dead, I will get a new one. Our flight is not very long, so if it dies, it dies. I'll find another way to entertain a 6 year old! Thanks for your input!
I did it this way too. I managed to get the second battery for something like $30. However, as they two batteries are older, the two combined barely last a flight. For that reason, I like to find flights with power- usually uses seatguru to do it.
