Wow, what a tragic story. I hope the pilot does not get in trouble because of his actions. He truly made a difference in the lives of those family members.
Thank you to the boy's family for donating the child's organs so that others may live.
Awesome! Bravo to the pilot for thinking outside the box; bravo to WN for allowing their employees to think outside the box.
And let's not forget the people in their customer service department who took the call and elevated the issue all the way to the pilot. No telling how many people along the way could have quashed it.....but didn't!
My husband's best friend is a Southwest pilot and I can absolutely see him doing this. I know it wasn't him as he was shoveling his driveway yesterday.
It's nice to see someone with compassion for another!
What a sad but nice story. I could totally see my DH doing this. I know he's done specials things for military personnel coming home, like as everyone to remain seated after they land so they can be the first off the plane, etc.
Kudos to the WN pilot and also to the other WN staff that somehow found out and notified the pilot.
And a belated big bah humbug to the airport staff and blueshirts for their heartless inaction.
Dickinson arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to find a long, slow-moving security line. He says airport workers weren't buying his story about Caden and refused to let him jump to the front of the line.
