Southwest now booking thru 12/13!

Thanks for the heads-up! I just got base air-fare from Chicago for 146.98pp so total for 4 of us was 680.00 (including taxes). This is a great deal!

I was able to book round trip non-stop both ways from Kansas City (MCI) to MCO for $308. This about what I paid at the end of May.

I just booked from Buf to MCO for $204 per person...by the sounds of posts on this board, I was expecting something better...there was nothing available in the lowest "promotional" columns....can someone tell me if better prices open up and what is the process if they do to get the lower fare? This is my first experience wtih Southwest. Thanks, Jo

Really easy. First make sure the lower fare is available to your entire party. Then, cancel the first reservation, keep track of the first reservation number, you will need it.
Then, book new flights, when you get to the payment area, use the pay for it with SWA credit. That will bring you to the screen where you enter your first reservation number and a few other details. Just follow the "bouncing ball" from there and you will be all set.

Since I'm flying over Thanksgiving it was $198 from PVD to MCO, but $10 cheaper to go thru Tampa. So I'm going to Tampa!!!! :teeth:

Now to find that great car rental rate I had booked thru National earlier in the year. Actually, should I try modifying my existing ressie??? I mean, I have to cancel it anyway since I'm flying into a different airport, right???

Gail Hayden, are you out there????
You can try to modify, but, don't expect that great rate. I would say try to modify AFTER you check out the rates in Tampa. National, btw, is offsite at Tampa, so, you might as well check Alamo's rates while you are at it. Try this code: BY - 489304 -fb20 (coupon, it is a free day). It is for BJ's .

On any flights over two hours, SWA serves peanuts and a snack box. The last time we flew SWA the snack box consisted of oreos, peanut butter crackers, and one other thing I can't remember.

Hope you have a great flight.

Debbie

My flight is always over 2 hours and all we get from Hartford to Orlando is peanuts and triscuts (or something like that). I think I will make a fuss if this happens again. :)

We are in a similiar situation we are 12/12-12/20. The woman was VERY rude and said we JUST opened up 12/12 it may not be until August or Sept. that we open up the rest of December. Oct.24 was opened in March. She said if I don't like waiting to fly someone else :( Boy I really liked Southwest because of their customer service,, this was not what I expected :(

Not excusing this, but, she has probably had a kajillion calls relating to this and you never know how she was treated by some. Many think the SWA agents make up the dates.

AnnMorin...off topic a bit but I know what you mean about SWA customer service. I always expect the best but once at MHT SWA counter I had the most miserable agent. She was obviously of very short temper and was her own worst enemy. What an attitude. It was a shock and it was awful! But I guess everyone has an off day.

Yes, yes they do have off days!!!! I generally try to kill them with kindness and that often turns them around and if it does not, off to a supervisor I go.
They usually have the best customer service and satisfaction out there, but, they are only human.

I have been known to have a few myself :)
I will check in a few weeks with SW again about our flights, I still really like flying with them so if it is ment to be it will happen

SWA from IND to MCO is $131.50 R/T for our Dec. 6-13 trip also ATA is same price. We booked ATA because of seat assignments. Since we belong to the ATA travel club we got a discount and paid only $119.70 per person R/T. This includes all fees and taxes.

Doesn't it figure. I just booked PVD to MCO two nights ago. At that time, there were nothing available at the Internet rate. Now two ights later, down goes my rate. Of course I rebooked. $146/pp rt. Of course I still ahve to pay off the higher rate, but at leat now I got $50 in SWA credit.

Sounds like a very compelling reason to plan another trip in the next year? What do you think???

That sounds like a plan to me. :)

Wow-I just check my flights I booked yesterday and already the fares are up $30 for BDL-MCO! I'm so glad I booked when I did and had my sisters and friend book theirs are theirs are up $20/ticket. I know to keep watching 'cause you never know when they're gonna drop again.

I booked RT from PVD yesterday at $200RT. Today they are up to $242RT!!

Boy, what a difference a day makes. The exact same flights I mentioned in my post last night are now $40/pp higher. I am so glad, so glad that I checked the Dis last night and saw the beginning of this thread.

I checked yesterday when I arrived home at 2PM, EDT, and the schedule had not been extended past Oct. 23. I checked a few hours later and I booked a flight for me from Islip to MCO for $190 roundtrip and a flight for my daughter from Chicago for $170 roundtrips. The flights land 20 minutes apart arriving and depart 15 minutes apart. :p

Woo-Hoo. I checked again and saved another $25 on my return ticket (special promotional fare not available for my flight down to Orlando). Now I have some credit funds available for when I visit my daughter in Chicago. I guess I have to keep checking the Southwest web site all the time.

I forgot to check Southwest until almost noon on Thursday. By that time my Saturday 11/8 morning non-stop MDW-MCO was sold out in the lowest fares. :(
But ATA had availability and it was only $170 round trip!!
I would have rather flown SW, but oh-well.

Now that SWA has extended their schedule, ATA appears to be matching the fares out of Chicago-MDW, as they have in the past. I booked MDW-MCO RT for late October at $170 per person including taxes, same as SWA and you get to choose your seats. Last week, this fare was still holding at $230. Competition is good :) .

Ralph

It figures this would happen when we were away on vacation. I got back last night and discovered that SW had extended -- I wasn't expecting it this soon! Thanks to those who suggested ATA. We got non-stops with great times for $131.50 on ATA out of Indianapolis. Only problem is we live 2 hours away in Dayton so we'll be staying overnight near IND, but will still save a bundle.
