We are flying later into MCO. Is Southwest only terminal A?
We are debating on getting a rental at MCO then driving to Disney or a xl Uber. If we get an Uber we will rent a car near Disney 2 days later and return at a different air port.

Is it going to save us a lot of time to get an Uber from airport over rental car- or is the rental car location close to baggage pick up?

Pricing is similar except not sure how much Uber will be. If we get a car at Disney it will be the car care place I think- staying at all stars.

Southwest is Terminal A, how much time saved with an Uber is going to depend on which rental company you choose and what level of service you have with that company. I can choose National, Avis, Enterprise or Hertz, go from baggage claim down stairs, across the street and into the rental car garage, choose a car and be out of the ramps maybe 2 minutes slower than an average Uber. It depends on how long it takes an Uber driver to take the ride and then come get you. If you choose a rental car company offsite, it's going to take much longer.

Alamo is a snap if you are an insider member (free to join). The day before you leave, you can check in on line and choose to "Skip the Counter." After you pick up your bags, go to the ground floor and cross over to the parking garage. Alamo is on the ground floor of the garage. Since you have skipped the counter you can go directly to the cars, choose the one you want and leave. Just show your credit card and drivers license at the checkout booth.

Note that Alamo is more expensive than say Budget or Dollar so the cost might be more than Uber.

Are you planning to keep the rental car for the whole trip, or just rent them one way on arrival and departure day?

Rental pickup times can vary. If you have skip the line access, it's about the same as waiting for an Uber and getting out of the pickup lane traffic. If you need to wait at the counter, it can take a while.

If you are returning the car in Fort Myers (RSW) it's an easy process there. Follow the signs to rental car return, drop off the car and go across the street to the terminal. Go up the escalator and you will be at Departures. Takes no more than a couple of minutes.
