We have a tentative quick trip planned to DW for the weekend of Oct 24, but the prices seem stuck at $119. The weekend of Oct 3 has prices of $69. Do you think they will lower the prices for later in October, or is that the best they will get?
I think it is all chance. You can book it at the 119 now so you have it , incase it books up, then if it lowers just rebook and the difference will put into a credit for you! I did that in May this year I stared at over 1000 for 4 of us and I got it down to around 800 return for us with a 300 and something dollar credit that we are using for Oct 2 to go do the Halloween stuff. With the credit we have it only cost out of my pocket for this trip 300 dollars for 4 return
I didn't really want to do that - putting out the big money ahead of time - as it's a tentative trip right now. Just wanted some impressions as to whether people thought that those prices might get reduced, or whether they'd probably stay roughly the same. Thanks anyway.
We booked Nov 7-17th and I paid $129.00 US for each way. I also booked the day the flights became available and no..... our fare hasn't gone down at all and I really don't expect it to this time due to oil prices climbing up and up!
i would definetly go the oct 3rd at $69, there was a Ding for the end of Oct but it was only $89. So it is cheaper to go early Oct as oppose to late. Book at $69 you probably won't find that price!!
I would wait. This is a dead travel season through mid-December except for Thanksgiving. I'm guessing that $69 fare will get extended beyond early October sometime in the next couple weeks and maybe even go to $59 if fuel continues to fall. Empty seats are lost revenue forever.

I hope you're right, although I think the wife wants to save the bucks and not go this time. I wish there was a way to see how many seats were left on SW's planes to get an idea if they might drop the price to at least sell more seats.
