Last week, the fares I wanted were $270 USD total. Now, they are $590 USD!!! I can believe it, 'cause I work in travel, but has anyone else had this happen to them? :sad2:

They went up within hours of being released last Thursday. I purchased Sacramento to Austin, TX (Reno was too expensive, we will drive 2 hours to save $600) I bought them about 9:30 in the a.m. (pst) and by early evening they had jumped from $845 to $1575 and have not come down since. Crazy, alot of people have been commenting on this. I am hoping they will come back down and I can get something out of Reno.

they change over night and go back down the next day ..up and down all the time..been doing this for 7 years never paid more then $135.00 and as little as $55.00 round trip..

We are paying $54 o/w in March trip....I checked today and it's $170! S

I watched a TV-magazine show about airlines and seat prices last week. I can't remember what airline exec was being interviewed, but it wasn't SW. The exec said that SW made a great fuel deal a while back and when the deal is completed, SW will be on a level field with other airlines and SW prices will go up. Prehaps that's what happened. I checked spring and summer rates and it's $158! S
