Hi everyone.

I haven't flown on Southwest for a couple years. When I used the airline before the family boarding age limit was 4 and under. Reading their website it now appears to families with a child who is 6 and under. Can anyone confirm that the age limit for family boarding has been raised by 2 years?

Thanks.

I flew 2 weeks ago, it's 6 and under. This caused the family boarding line to be much longer. I had B22 and got a seat 2nd row from the back.

Is it just one parent with the child 6 and under or do they allow both parents and other children to board at the same time?

As you can see on the website they allow "An adult traveling with a child six years old or younger"
So I would count on one adult with the child and then see what happens at the gate as it would be up to the gate agent to determine who can board with the child.

I have seen them let the immediate family (parents and siblings) and I have seen them limit it to one adult per eligible child. They often make announcements that extended family, grandparents, aunts etc. should board in their own boarding position.

On my flights, they allowed parents & siblings but not "extended family".
