I am having trouble getting an answer on this question from Southwest. So here goes...... I am looking to fly into Orlando but return home from Ft Lauderdale. Both are on the internet specials. but you can not book it that way online. Now the phone doesn't give you the internet rate? Or your double rapid rewards credits. So I am confused:rolleyes: What do I do book the internet rate into and out of Orlando. Get my double credits for booking online and then call and change the flight home to one leaving Ft Lauderdale? Any advice or expertise will be most appreciated!::yes::

I am not an expert, but couldn't you do two one way trips? Book the outbound into Orlando and book the return from Ft. Lauderdale.

Hope this helps!

Like antmaril said, book two one way trips. The only problem is the really low fares are usually for round trips only. Round trip for SWA is arriving and leaving from the same place.

to do this, just hit :"none"for returning city.

Thats what I tried to do was book 2 one ways. but, Unless I want to pay full fares. that doesn't seem to work. It seems the lower fares are only available as a round trip. I hate to have to drive to Lauderdale and drive back to Orlando to fly out. But, the cost differance for 6 people may make it the only way it makes sense! thanks....

Gail I had a feeling you would have some insight on this one!

I just went into SWA to see if I could book two one ways Detroit to Orlando and then Ft. Lauderdale to Detroit. I was offered the internet special of $99 each way on these flights. Right now, that is the cheapest I can travel to and from Detroit to Florida on Southwest. We have not been offered a $79 rate, but $99 each way is working.

Where are you traveling from?

A lot depends on when you are flying. Sometimes the only fares available are full price. When are you going/coming back and from where? The rest I can figure out. :)

I am looking to go Providence to Orlando, March 28th and then fly out of Lauderdale April 4th, I know the fares are not released yet past the 6th.... I am however trying to figure this out, As I hate to commit my DVC points until I am sure!

Well, if you were to change to arriving in Tampa, one way would be 99. And the same for leaving Ft.L. This is in Jan. From Providence to Orlando, the fares are high, which of course, is subject to change.

It will be one heck of a lot easier to figure out when they extend the dates. :)

As I understand it the cheapest Internet fares are ROUND trip (I think I am referring to the "fun fares"). In the SW world what you are doing does not book as a round trip. I have booked these exact same flights and always wound up with two one way tickets at a higher cost.

Also, leave yourself a little extra time at both airports. One way tickets are more likely to get selected for the extra security review.

I believe even SW round-trip tickets are 2 - 1 way tickets. Meaning a 1 way ticket is 1/2 the price of a round trip ticket. Their "specials" always advertise one-way. BTW, Ft. Lauderdale is this weeks Featured Destination.

As OP said, book each flight separately. I luv SW!
