I've already booked our December flights but haven't purchased EBCI yet. There's a chance that I'll be changing flights and/or airports. What happens to EBCI if you make changes like that? Do you loose your "spot"? Does your virtual location in the EBCI line change?

As long as you keep the same reservation #, it will follow you. You need to modify your reservation rather than cancel/rebook.

DebbieB already explained that you must use the "Change Flight" option (do not cancel and rebook) to make sure you don't lose EBCI when you change your flight.

As far as losing your spot, there is some anecdotal evidence that changing your flight moves you further back in the EBCI queue. The information on Southwest's website states that an EBCI purchaser's position in the queue is based on the fare type (Anytime passengers with EBCI first, then Wanna Get Away passengers with EBCI) and that within your group it's based on the date/time you purchased EBCI. Based on some reports here, when you change your flight it's possible that your EBCI purchase date gets reset to the date when you made the change.

Thank you, both. If that's the case, I suppose it makes sense. You can change and save a few bucks and your place in line changes too.
