Southwest DING! Fares

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney in August. I know it's hot, but it's the only time we can go without paying a fortune or getting flooded with crowds! Anyway, I monitor the DING! Fares from Southwest every day, and am planning to just wait it out right up through July for the cheapest fares to Orlando (from the northeast). She seems a bit nervous about this, and thinks we should look into booking airfare with SW or another carrier ASAP without the DINGS.

Has anyone here had this debate and gone one way or the other? How did it work out? I think we should get something reasonable, but if we don't we'll be stuck doing a 24 hour drive both ways.

I'm a die-hard SWA fan, so I always wait for their Dings or internet specials. However, we tend to fly SW enough every year so that as soon as the window opens, I book our flights, and when a lower fare is offered, I get Ticketless Funds to use for the next trip. We've been lucky, and have always gotten really great deals.
With SW, the motto is "Patience pays".
