Just bought airline tickets for DL. They have a 3 day deal going on.

For some reason, I have never found a super deal through SWA between Houston and the L.A. area. I always found better fares through United.

There are some cool websites that you can sign up with that will send you alerts when airfare falls below a certain price. That really helped us with our last trip.

Airfare is such a weird thing. It can be $500 one day, and then fall to $250 the next day.

We are paying 79. For each leg of the trip, for out Dec. trip. Most airline deals are normally posted on Tuesdays.

Awesome! My family is in Phoenix, and will usually fly SWA because it's so much cheaper. I love Tucson! Actually all of Arizona. We got married in Sedona. If a job opportunity came up, we would probably move out there.

Yeah, that's what I always heard about Tuesdays, and sometimes on Wednesdays, and that's when I usually check, but lately, it seems there is no rhyme or reason with prices. So when I know I am going somewhere, I sign up for alerts and as soon as the price drops, I log on and buy.

I checked SWA, and from Houston to Orange County, it's $128 each way, which is quite good, but I'm not 100% sure, or even 50% sure I can swing a trip that time of year. Too far out to plan.

They probably won't have good deals until October when the Wright Amendment is lifted. I can never get direct flights out of Love Field, but once October 15th hits it's game on!

If she's flying out of Houston, the Wright Amendment wouldn't have an affect on her airfare, since the amendment only applies to Dallas. Can't wait to have it gone, though!

God bless Hobby; IAH is TOO far. But, the deals are usually crummy. One year we did snag one ways to Orlando for $99.

^^^ Yeah, I'm the opposite. We're closer to IAH (I'm on the Atascocita/Kingwood side of town). Our kids are younger (3 and 6 now), so we always choose to go to the Disneyland resort rather than WDW because it's just easier with little ones. I couldn't find anything on SWA for less than $260 between HOU and LAX or Orange County, so we just flew United out of IAH for $250 round trip. I looked for months and couldn't find anything cheaper, aside from Spirit, and I will avoid that airline like the plague!

I just went last month, to celebrate my son's 6th birthday, just he and I, but I would love to take my daughter in early December, so I am on the hunt for anything under $250 r/t.

Oh, and on another note, did you hear that Disney Cruise Line will be returning to Galveston in 2015 for Thanksgiving and Christmas cruises? I know it's going to be pricey, but am thinking about doing a Christmas one.

Southwest Airlines does release their new promotions on Tuesdays. Why Tuesday? I have no idea. Just glad and happy to have Southwest and their specials.

When the timing is right, Southwest Airlines airfares can be as low as $49.00 one way. So definitely, keep a weather eye open me maties!

I was very discouraged by this sale. I always buy a fall flight when they have the summer sale, but the DLR area seems to be specifically excluded from this flight sale from my area. I always get Sac-SNA, but you can't even get Ontario, LAX, or Burbank. I do hope there will be another fall fare sale because this one's a real disappointment.

Gisele, it wasn't very many years back that the special sale fare was $25 each way! That was a screamin' deal and what prompted me to get an AP! At $50 RT, it was so cheap to fly to DL with my $300 AP and book a $59 room at Hojo.

So, I can get roundtrip airfare from Houston to Orlando for $197 on either United or SWA in either November or December. But I don't want to go to Disney World, I want to go to Disneyland. Waaaaaahhhhhhhh.

I guess I will hold out and hope I can find $200 round trip flights between Houston and L.A.
