Southwest Credits...Expiration ???

I have two credits expiring in early April. Do I have to travel by that date to use them or BOOK by that date? If I wanted to use them for a summer trip can I? I have completely forgotten how these work. Thanks

You have to travel by the expiration date. You can ask them to extend the expiration date, but it's $50/confirmation# to do so. If the credits are large, that makes sense.
