Southwest credit & extension questions

I have ticketless travel funds that expire on 6/12/09. The credit is for $559.00 some of it is from 2 roundtrip tickets wherein my son & his girlfriend were unable to go on the trip last year and some of the credit is from when I got a lower price for the 4 of us before they cancelled. I'm waiting for the funds to expire on 6/12/09 so I can call and get an extension so I can book our trip for this september. How much will I be charged to extend the credits. There is only one confirmation number for all the tickets. Will I be charged $50 per person or $50 per confirmation number. If it's per person, that will end up costing me $200 and cut my credit almost in half. If that's the case, is there a way to combine all the credits and not lose so much.

Thank you so much, that was extremely helpful. Looks like the best thing for me to do would be to book a flight using all my credits and then cancel, therefore having all my credits into one and only getting charged a $50 fee

When I made a new flight purchase with funds, the exp date was the same as I originally had. So you may still have them expire 6/12/09, if you book a new flight and cancel.

Call SW they're always very helpful and pleasant about your options with credits. Unlike USAir which wanted to charge me $150/pp for changing a flight booked with dividend miles last week!

Well, I finally called SW today and the customer service agent said that the fee to extend the ticketless travel funds is $50 per ticketed person. I had credits for 3 people and did not want to pay $150 to extend, so I took the advice from these boards and booked a refundable flight for a little over the amount of my credit and then cancelled the flight. I got the credit to my cc card and got all the travel funds under one name so I only have to pay $50 to extend my travel funds. Thanks to everyone for all your help. These boards are a wealth of information!
