Southwest Credit card offers 50,000 rapid points

SW is offering 50,000 rapid points if you get there CC (99 fee/ yr). You have to spend $2000 before you get the points.

Is this the best offer they usually have or should I wait. Seems like last year they had a good offer after christmas.

1. If I get this card I would like to purchase tickets for Dec asap. They would run about $1500. That could go towards the $2000 am I correct?

2. Would I get points for air tickets also?

3. I do not like the $99 fee/ yr but it does give 6000 points. That is about equivalent to $100 in flights I think. I will likely fly SW at least once a year but possible twice.

4. If I buy tickets with CC for family, who gets the rapid awards, myself for using my cc or family member?

5.Would I always get two sets of points, the points for flying I get without CC
and points for using cc (2 for each $ spent)

So to those who have SW CC is it worth it?
Should I wait for a better offer?

I just received this offer also. When I googled chase southwest 50000 points, I was brought to southwest.com and there partners. There is a card below the one they offered that still gives the 50000 points, but only gives 3000 on the anniversary. The fee for that one is only $69. If you purchase the ticket it would go toward the $2000 and since it is purchased through southwest you get 2 points for each $1 spent. I think you would get the air points because they would come directly through southwest. You would get the air points if you used a different card. With Delta each family member has to have a rewards account for their mileage to go into. I would think this is the same for southwest. I do not think you will find a better offer. The best I have seen is 60,000 but that was awhile ago.
