southwest changes and credits

we were suppose to leave for vegas on monday but both of us are sick Im actually doing better then DH

but Ive been sick since Sun

anyways when I booked the trip (air and hotel Package) I had a $30 credit so I used that as part of the payment--this was back in June

I thought I read before I printed everything that since I used the credit I couldnt make any changes or cancel

our credit card that I used to book includes trip protection so I just put in a claim

I thought it would be easier to cancel one trip and then if we can reschedule well just start over

so is that true that if you use credit you cant make any changes or cancel

geeeze just one thing to deal with

That is not true/correct ...

You can make changes or cancel but the thing is your ticket expires on the expiration date of the credit, not one year from the date of purchase of your current ticket.
