SouthWest assigned seats?

Does SouthWest give you assigned seats on your ticket?? Just wondering. If not, do you have to get there early to get seats together??

You can book your boarding pass online 24 hours prior to your flight. Southwest boards medical and people with young children, then A boarding pass, B boarding pass and C boarding passes. The earlier you book your boarding pass the better your chance of getting a seat you will like.

Evidently that has changed now. A boarding passes will board after rmedical and then families with small children, B passes and then C passes.

so...... do I need to print my boarding pass beforehand since we have a small child? Or can I wait until we show up at the terminal, then board after the A's??

No, there's a new policy, effective in October, and now those holding "A" passes will get to board BEFORE families with small children who normally preboard.

You still have families boarding before "A" holders.

You should be able to pre board with your small child before the A, B or C passes. Sometimes the staff will only allow one adult to board with the small child not a large family but that is rare. You should have no problems.
