Southwest Airlines?

Can someone explain what “change flight” means? We have a flight that was changed to one that was more expensive.

When you select change flight from your southwest app it will pull up all the flights available for that same day (including the one you already have booked) to see if there has been a price change or another flight that is less expensive you could change to. What I love about this os the prices are listed in terms of the change in cost from what you paid for your current ticket. So, is the flight i already booked has gone down in price it might read -$42, meaning 42 dollars would come back to you as a flight credit if you “rebook” your current flight to the same itinerary. You have to go to a few steps to actually confirm a flight change if you decide to do so, so don’t be afraid you could make an adjustment by accident .

this is not the same as Southwest changing your flight because of cancellation or other change in itinerary.

Generally, if they changed your flight, they'll allow you to change to any available flight the same day at no charge, regardless of the price difference.

Why would you need to remember the rebooked codes? As long as you enter your SW RR #, you can see the remaining funds on your account under travel funds.

That wasn't always the case. Prior to maybe 2019, but I think early 2020, you had to have the confirmation number of the the flight you had a TF from in order to use it online. They could see them if you called in.

I think any real cheap flights are going to be hard to come by until the end of 2022 at least. Right now everyone wants to fly and because of how they operated during the pandemic SW doesn't have the pilots to run a full schedule or expand.

The only way you'll see those fares is flying at off-peak days and times, and if there is a direct flight. So like a Tuesday night at 9:30 pm.
