Southwest airlines points question

DH and I signed up for the 50,000 free miles promo. Got my card yesterday, purchased an iced-coffee this morning to get things going. Any idea when my points might be available?

I need them ASAP, LAX is running out of wanna get away flights!

Also, if I book now and there is a sale or something and the points needed go down, will the credit me the points?

I'm not sure about the answer to your second question but I do know that it took a complete billing cycle for my awards to credit back in March when I did the SWA Visa promotion. If you're in a hurry, you can go to Chase's website and change your due date so that your billing cycle ends mores quickly. But it may still take a couple of weeks before those points show up in your RR account.

It took me a couple of weeks after I made a payment to get the points- I paid what I charged as soon as I could just in case that was part of triggering it.

Yes, you can get your points refunded if the price drops after you book. You have to watch for the price drop and request to change your flight (to the same flight at the new price online). They do not automatically credit you. I have already had one 3500 point per ticket drop that I have had refunded.

Call the 800 # that is on the credit card and ask. I called for some question when I first received mine, and the customer service was so friendly and helpful.

I got my card the end of August and my points became available last week when my first statement was sent out. I have already booked my flights w/the points and my first payment isn't even due (or paid) yet.

I got my points within a couple weeks. I made a charge, paid it online through their site, and a few weeks later the point were there. It was pretty fast.
