Southwest Airfare Increase

Have been looking to book a flight out of Buffalo for August 12th with Southwest. Kicking myself that I didn't book a couple of days ago when the price was $220. The price has jumped to a little over $300 return. Any ideas why this jump in price? Any suggestions on whether I should take my chances and book at this price or what for something better to show up. This will be my first time flying out of Buffalo, so any and all suggestions are welcome.

The cost of crude oil is $110.21/barrel today. I don't think it was that high earlier this week.

Also check Jet Blue and Air Tran. Southwest is not the only airline out there.

Might consider watching the rates for a few days. I've been on the SWA site daily checking the rates for my booked flight and have noticed that the fares fluctuate from day to day. Also watch for a DING. They don't seem to be coming up as often for BUF to MCO(too many Canadians flying out of Buffalo) bit I have noticed a few in the past month.
