Southern California residents tickets

My family and I are heading out to California next month for a visit with my sister. We are planning to spend two days at Disneyland as part of our trip. If my sister purchases southern California residents' tickets, can we use them? I am not trying to take advantage of any offer I am not entitled to. I am just unclear on the rules.

Yes, a resident can purchase up to 8 tickets with one ID, so this is allowed

Actually, i just emailed Disneyland guest services with the same question as my parents are southern california residents and will be taking my family to Disneyland. While the southern california resident can purchase up to 8 tickets per day, any person using a resident ticket age 18 or older must be able to show CA ID when using the ticket. Guest Services stated that the deals are meant to be used by residents only, not their guests. I wanted to be sure, so this was the official response. Hope this helps you, too!

Oh, I apologize if I was wrong. My sister that I bought the tickets for is 14 and therefore doesn't have an ID, so I didn't think about this.

What customer service told you is the rule and policy and as they said, if you don't have a valid local ID you can be denied access with a locals ticket. What you'll hear on forums and from people is that no one ever checks -- and that's pretty much true, I've never seen anyone checked. But that doesn't mean they can't or won't so it's very good to be aware of the policy and not get yourself into trouble by not knowing.

I did this two days ago and bought four tickets at the park. I had to show ID (I used to live in So Cal. and still have mail with my So. Cal address on it, even though I don't have an ID with the address). I had no issues whatsoever and no one asked for ID's at the gates.

Yep. True for us.

My family is from Nor Cal. We were going to buy a one day/one park ticket. My dad paid with a credit card and was asked to show ID. He showed his NOR CAL ID and the CM told him he could was eligible for the So Cal 2-fer deal. My dad said ok and we got the 2-fers. No one asked us for ID when we used them at the gates.

We think that the CM just looked at the CA license and didn't bother to check the zip code. We didn't intend to break the rules, but we didn't want to argue with the CM.

My family is from NV and VA. Two weeks ago we all went. I am an AP holder, and bought 3 tickets for them at my local Von's grocery. Handed them the tickets at the park, and they gave them to the ticket taker, and went right on through
