South Carolina hotels

We'll be driving from New York to Disney this August. This is our second time driving down now. I think that the Florence South Carolina area is where we want to stop for the night.

Last year, on the way back home, we stopped in the Econolodge there. A fellow DIS member warned me against staying at the Econolodge, and I meant to change the reservation, but with so much going on before the trip, it slipped my mind. When we got to the hotel, I made a commitment then and there to NEVER stay in a hotel that wasn't approved by the DIS members again, it was THAT bad

Has anyone had experience with the Quality Inn at 150 Dunbarton Drive? It looks pretty good on the website, but then again so did the Econolodge There will be a mutiny if I pick another hotel as bad as that, and even the mention of Florence makes DD13 wince, so I have to make sure I get it right this time

Here is my Recommendation for Florence:

Country Inn and Suites at exit 164.
Its the only place I'll stay.

Clean, relatively new, Breakfast in the morning.

We always stop here on our way to Hilton Head Island.
