Any good advice from South Beachers on how and what to eat while at the world? I'm doing well on the diet and don't want to backslide...I'll be into the second phase when I leave for Disney....

I was there last week and I admit it - I did not follow the SBD while I was there. I just couldn't do it. It was my vacation. We ate at Tchoup Chop at Universal, Crystal Palace at MK for breakfast, 50's Prime Time at MGM and The Cheesecake Factory (among other things).

I am back on Phase II of South Beach today and have no regrets. I didn't weigh myself this weekend. I didn't really want to know the damage.

I'm sure it can be done, I just didn't want to do it!!

Bad me!

Good luck to you and have fun!!!

I'm not going until June but I already have a rough itinerary sketched out. I plan to stay on program the entire time (fingers crossed).

At most restaurants you can order a steak, burger, or some other protein with a salad and veggie so I'm not worried at all. I know we'll eat at a few buffets (Crystal Palace, Donald's and 1900 Park Fare - all for breakfast). Snacks will be sugar free treats in the parks, nuts brought from home, fruit from one of the stands or popcorn and a diet soda. Since we're staying at the Grand Floridian, I know Gaspirilla Grille is opening 24 hours a day and I know I can always find an acceptable snack, even if we are at the parks late.

We're trying RainForest Cafe for the first time and I've already been to their site and found a couple of dishes I am excited to try.

I hope staying on plan won't be that difficult, especially if you have made up your mind to go into the situation not willing to compromise. Some people suspend their diets while on vacation but I'd like to see if this truly is a "lifestyle" change for me. I also plan on working out each day at the gym at the GF.

Please report back and let us know how you did!

When we go in June we will be 6 months into the South Beach diet (and a heckuvalot lighter than I am now). :D

Since we are camping a Ft Wilderness, it makes it a little easier for us to stick to SB while we are there, but I already know that completely sticking to the diet for two weeks at WDW ain't gonna happen. One thing I like about this is it is easy to go back to phase one for a short time to lose any gains (like gaining any losses, but the other way around) (sorry abou that) :D .
