Soup or Salad

I have question we are doing the deluxe dinning plan.The meals come with appeitzer,meal,dessert. When looking at the menu at a lot of the restuarant the soup and salad are not listed with the appeitzer. My question is can you order a soup in place of a "appeitzer"?

I know I have in the past ordered a soup instead of an appetizer, I think Rose and Crown was one of them.
