Who all has went to Nashville and stayed at the Gaylord and did the Soundwaves water park package? It is not cheap by any means, but it looks like something we might do in the future. We don't live in TN, but in GA. Any advice on discounts, rooms to pick, locations of rooms, food there?

We went in January for one night. It is a beautiful waterpark. Not the biggest we’ve been to but definitely more upscale. Because we went on winter it was affordable. We thought about it in the summer but it was more than we wanted to spend. We did miss out on all of the outdoor water features but for one night there was enough to keep us happy. We then went on to spend a night closer to downtown and some time spent time on the strip listening to live music. I think we would have been bored with two nights there. Maybe if we also had the outside to use we would not have been. You can get two full days of waterpark out of one night as you can stay the entire day you check out. I don’t believe they give a lot of discounts on the room. And the waterpark rooms are all in one section so it wasn’t a far walk. My suggestion for food at the hotel is eat dinner somewhere else. It was all crazy expensive and there’s plenty of places to eat in Nashville. The ware park itself had affordable lunch fare though. If you can go on a weekday it will be less crowded. It did get very crowded on Saturday. Get there early and go upstairs to the adult pool and bar and stake out your spot on the comfy round couches.

I went and booked two nights, (we will only go with one date) one at the end of June and one at the end of July. June's price came out to $405 for four people with the water park option and July's price came to $435 for the same. Then the BS parking fee and resort fee to pay once your arrive.

We’ve been a few times and loved it, both summer and winter. You are sure
To have fun! As mentioned earlier, perhaps eat some meals other places. Brunch by the waterfalls is nice; we found other restaurants to be OK. The aquarium and rain forest cafe restaurants next door are a fun treat for the kiddos! If you get out and about, we love midtown cafe for breakfast in downtown. Make sure to pack flip flops and coverup for walk to the water park through the hotel. Guess who forgot this before - lol!

Loved Soundwaves. I wouldn't go though unless you can use the outdoors. I would be bored with the interior. I think dinner on property is worth it not to have to leave and go somewhere else. I really loved the mexican restaurant and the sushi bar. It's an incredible resort

We were there in Nov for a conference. We parked at Opry Mills to avoid the parking fee. There is a parking lot for check in that is free for about an hour. Start there. Find out where your room is and then decide. My husband took a scooter and rode it back and forth to Opry Mills for food for us a couple of times. It worked for us. We are going to the waterpark only in June with a group so that will be my first time getting to try the outside stuff. Oh and the food prices in the waterpark were very pricey. It was around 20.00 for one person for food that looked low quality. Take snacks in. Lots of people with coolers.

I think the parking fee is ridiculous. You're already paying a lot to stay there. I did have lunch there and actually found the opposite. I thought the food was very good quality, fresh and reasonable for resort food. About $15.00 for lunch.
I didn't think you could go to the park without staying at the resort. Have they changed their policy? Will it be open this June? The hotel is closed right now.

Yes, the parking fee is BS, but so is Disney's parking fee. I have about five dates booked. One for the very end of June, four for July. I will cancel all of them except the one we keep, if we get to go.

Right, I wouldn't dare go in the cold weather.

We went in June 2019. They limit the number of tickets (really, not just say they do!) so there are no significant lines. We enjoyed it for two afternoons-one was raining and there was enough indoors to kep the kids happy. The resort itself is amazing. Very upscale. The dining venues are all topnotch as well. The water park is not on the same level as a Disney water park, however, IMO.

Agreed. It's a nice add on for a hotel though. When they opened they weren't opening it except for hotel guests. Are you able to go now if you don't stay at the hotel?

Oh, I am sure it is not on the level of my beloved TL. But I never doubted that they limited the number of tickets sold. The price of a room is very high and for them to be able to continue to sell the rooms at those rates, the water park needs to be very enjoyable. Right now beacause of the virus all of my dates that I have had booked or had my eye has come down. But because of the virus I don't know if we will get to go this year now. I first and foremost just want to make it out alive with this mess, and I may or may not.

You can book a "party room" and go to the waterpark. But I think that is over the top expensive too, but I am not really sure.

All I know is the party room, but they have special rates for groups and non profits. The birthday rate is crazy high. Our June date has been moved to August so I don't really know how they are dealing with Covid.
