SotMK after hours

How late after closing can you hang around and play SotMK?

You have to be moving toward the park exit. If you try to move deeper into the park security will turn you around. We tried once to take a different path to the exit around the castle instead of going through adventureland and was told to turn back.

Have seen the portals open after the listed cut off time, but they were not registering any game play. Not sure if this still happens now though, been a couple of years since I've actively played it.
