sorting pictures.....

How do you sort your pictures when putting into albums or boxes?? Do you do it chronologically or by child(subject)???

Mine are all digitally and done by date.
I name the main folder the year of the months:
2009
And then inside them I list the months Jan-Dec
Inside each month, I list the day and a little note of what it was:
April 26 Baleigh's Birthday Presents
April 26 Chuck E Cheese

So when I go back to look for something I know what day it happened and what was in each folder.

Im sure you were asking about people who print photos. We are military so we are always on the move so all my photos have to remain digitally and then displayed on my Digital Photo Frame and swapped out in my picture frames

Thanks for your response.....yes I have my digital that way too...

ya its my old pics that were developed and then put in a box...eek! I have decided to go back and chronologically organize them..it will be a job but worth it

I guess most importantly is to write all the information on the back of the photos. My mom was going through her mother's photos (my grandmother) and she had no clue who was who. She was so frustrated because there is a little girl in one of the photos who is a spitten image of my youngest and she has no clue who she is because no one wrote any information on the photos. So apparently there is a little girl on my mom's side who shares the same features with my youngest but we dont know her name or how she's related. The only thing that mom does know is it was a family photo (taken around a holiday or something like that) So yes....write down any information. Usually for my actual photos (the few that I do have) I put the name, age and date. If its something that's unusual I write what they were doing like "singing in a concert at blah blah church" so when my grandchildren look back they know it was their mother singing at church.

I really do hope someone comes along to help you organize those photos with you.
