I want to make a slide show for my DD's 16th celebration and I would love recommendations on a program that I can buy and do myself. I have called a couple of local places and they want to charge alot for a 5 minute slide show.

Thanks in advance!:thumbsup2

You can do a slideshow with a variety of transitions and music on Windows Movie Maker, which is free for people with Windows. If you don't already have it on your computer, just search the Windows site for the free download. This is my favorite way to do a slideshow because it's easy to manipulate the duration of time the photo is shown, the order of the photos, and you can cut music and fade it in and out to go along with the photographs.

If you have a Macbook, iMovie (I think that's the name) is similar.

Also, Google has a free program called Picasa which creates slideshows. It isn't as easy to manipulate as Movie Maker, but you can literally just dump all of your photos into the program, and it will create a slideshow for you - very easy to do, but not the best program if you want a great deal of control.

No need to buy a fancy slideshow maker - there are plenty of programs out there for no charge! :goodvibes

Openoffice.org. Has apowerpoint compatible portion of their software suite that is free to download

Windows Movie Maker is actually really good for a basic slide show.
