Sort of a strange question about restrooms

When it's hot and humid, I like to pause in a restroom (hopefully air conditioned!) and wash my face to freshen up. I'm debating whether or not to pack towelettes/facial wipes in my day bag. Do the park restrooms use paper towels or air driers?

I don't recall seeing air dryers in many of the rest rooms. I've always used paper towels, don't like air dryers because they are too noisy.

I do this when I go to Disneyland California. I am Irish and my pale European skin and body is not used to the Cali heat. I need to reapply sunscreen on my face about every 2 hours as it just slides off my face. I bring a travel size packet of face wipes in my bag. In the park restrooms I splash water on my face, use the facewipe and then dry off with the paper towels before reapplying sunscreen. I also use the facewipe for the dreaded boob sweat and to freshen up underarms before reapplying deodorant.

I do not like air dryers and remember being relieved that I didn't see many last month. In the restrooms that I used, at least.

I find that the majority do still have paper towels. Occasionally I will freshen up my face too but I usually do it later in the day because I apply sunscreen before leaving my resort and don't bring any with me so I don't want to wash it all off before late afternoon.
I personally seek out paper towels or I wipe my hands on my pants because I hate hand dryers!
They are loud and I just don't like the feeling of air blowing on me (I hate hair dryers too! air dry all the way lol)

All I can think about is the germs from people who didn't wash their hands very well blowing up in my face :crazy2:

I don't think I've seen one inside the parks that doesn't have paper towels. I freshen up in them all the time, nothing like a cool wet paper towel over the face and neck to cool you down. I'll admit I've even ducked in a stall if there wasn't a line and freshened up under my shirt.

You are supposed to reapply sunscreen every two hours for it to work properly.

Well, there ya go. I guess they do have paper towels. LOL. I guess I focus on those air dryer because my son (autism) has such an aversion to them.

I'm 31 and have been going to Disney my entire life several times being in June, July, August, and September. I have always only applied in the morning and I don't get burnt. Generally I go home no more tan than I came. And actually I like being as fair skinned as possible. Clearly it works for me.
At the beach that is a different story. I apply and reapply even if I'm only at the beach for a couple hours plus I wear a t-shirt in the water and I still get burned.
Different things work for different people and in different situations.

I'm the same as you. Super fair skinned, burn within minutes without sunscreen but I only apply it once in the morning at WDW and am good all day and remain pasty white throughout the vacation.

Same at the beach though, every time I'm in and out of the water I reapply.

not to be a debbie downer, but you really should be applying sunscreen every 2 hours. Just because you dont see sun damage ie tanning or burning, does not mean that its not happening. Sunscreen protects against the UVB and UVA rays which cause skin cancer.

If you stay in one place for a long time then sunburn's much more likely, I've found.

As for the question, I remember usually using paper towels

Depends on your skin. I'm glow in the dark white and after a few hours in the park, having applied sunscreen before leaving my room, my skin starts to tingle. Time to put more on.

I love bringing wet wipes along to use to freshen up. Started to do it a few years ago. Nothing like getting rid of old sweat and makeup and having a clean face for a while.

A full bottle of sunscreen makes my tote bag heavier. I bought a small empty plastic bottle (the kind which will fit in your 3-1-1 airport bag) and pour sunscreen in it, then toss the small bottle in my tote bag. (Actually I put it in a ziploc bag, then toss it in my tote bag.) This lets me have it on hand to reapply without having to carry the full sunscreen bottle around all day.

Exactly, you dont have to bring the big bottle with you to the park :) The sunscreen I buy is sold in the travel size for the 311 baggie, so I buy 2 of them and 1 large bottle. I use factor 50 on both my face and body. I use the factor 50 sunscreen on my face even here in Ireland from May to September, I just switch out my usual moisturiser. Even on cloudy overcast days the UVA and UVB rays can cause skin damage, so just cos its not what you might call sunny your skin is still at risk from melanoma.

Some rest rooms have both, some have only air dryers, some have only paper towels.
