Unfortunately every workplace has a difficult, arrogant, jobsworth and it sounds like this guy is yours! I am a great believer in Karma, we reap what we sow. So just sit back and wait for him to come unstuck!!

Joh, he sounds like a total prat. I think every workplace has a boss who thinks he has to throw his weight around regardless of what is the right thing to do. It's horrible when it happens to you, I agree with Claddagh that what goes around comes around, so hopefully he'll get his comeuppance before you leave! Keep your chin up it sounds like the rest of your colleagues need your common sense!

hi Joh, know what you mean about the civil service , my daughter works there and some people just have no expierence on how to treat people.
have had a few expierences of bosses like yours at the minute, but i have found if you sit back and wait, he will need your help or expierence in some way, when it happens then tell him where to go.
