My husband might be getting a transfer to Pulaski, Tennessee. My first question of course, was how long of a drive is it to Florida? Based on what I've read, it seems like a pretty rural town. My husband's boss said it's about 1 hour from nashville. Any other info regarding schools, shopping, and other stuff would be great if anyone lives close by or in Pulaski. I'm not really a country girl, and have always lived in a city of about 200 000+, will I be totally out of my element here or could I adjust. Thanks!

Its 90 minutes from Nashville. DW taught there a year when we lived in Nashville. NO ONE envied her commute. She said there were alot of wonderful people who lived there. I was not in a position to move away from Nashville at that time. She would have stayed in Pulaski if it were not for the long commute. She really enjoyed teaching at Pulaski Elementary.

As far as the drive to Florida, I assume you mean to WDW. Its about 12.5 hours. Take US 64 east to I24 E to I75 S. Bypass Macon Ga with I475. Then in Fla take the Fla Turnpike to Orlando.

When we drove to WDW this year we loved TN! and are thinking it would be a beautiful place to live (and so much closer to WDW - We are in MN). Ah, one day...

I moved from the big city to a rural town in MN and I love it... don't have to fight traffic and the pace of life is much slower. I don't want to move back into a city again! And with Nashville that close, you will be able to 'visit' a larger city when you need to.
