Decisions decisions!well i think i have finally decided to go with the Pop Century Resort August 2011,i have been looking through the brochures and there seems to be a big difference in price for the last week in August/1st week in Sept. so i must admit i am tempted to book for then...the question i have is ,should i book through the preview brochure or should i wait till the new brochures come out in April/May as there might be deals on?Also,is a car necessary if i stay at Pop Century or can you easily get transport to the likes of the Kennedy Space Centre/Universal Studios?I was going to book it all seperately but the brochure seems to be slightly cheaper?....Thanks everyone

Hiring a car gives you the flexibility to go where you want, when you want (and lots of storage in the boot for your shopping ).

There are those who stay onsite and still use a car to get to the parks; while others use Disney transport, its all down to personal choice.

This time around we are not going to hire a car for the full holiday, we are going at a slower pace and so will try out the bus service, shuttles etc with just the odd day's care hire thrown in.

A car gives you more flexibility but it is really easy to get around without one though. Mears do a bus service to Universal, Seaworld etc, you can ask the hotel to book it for you. Disney transport is really good so you won't have any problems there. We didn't have a car for our first few trips and we never had any problems, we only hired one on our last trip as we wanted to spread our wings a bit further.

We been twice without a car, then the third time we hired a car. Now we would NEVER go without getting a car as you can get around much quicker. Some of the free transportation buses go around the houses before getting to its destination and they can be crowded. Getting to Universal from Disney is a hassle, but not impossible. As said above, with a car you can do a lot more shopping!

You really would save loads of time over your holiday by getting a car. This time can then be spent on better things!!

Been 9 times - 6 times with a car, 3 without. Would never hire a car again - the savings you make using public transport are unreal!

Orlando's public transport system is quick, easy and reliable. You do need to research before you go to make the most of it, but it's much better than any public transport I've used in the UK!!!

Personally I would wait and see what offers come out later if staying onsite, they could offer free dining deals for moderates of Deluxe fo rnot much more than Value resorts. Last August and again this August we are staying at Old Key West, Deluxe DVC resort, take into accont the free food and its cheaper than value resorts.

We are all different with car/public transport. I love driving over there and hate public transport in any country so it has to be a car for me.

are deals like that usually available from,when the brochures come out or do they change regularly?and if you do take a car,is it free parking at your own resort?...sure i will have loads more questions so i apologise in advance!

I would expect Disney to announce next years free dining deals in about 2 months. At OKW last year it cost us £91/night, this year costing £100/night. If they do similar offer next August I am expecting £111/night. Includes free dining plan for upto 4 people which is worth about £27pppn.
I book direct with Disney.co.uk for room and tickets but tour ops will offer the deal also.
Car parking is free at all Disney resorts, your own resort as long as you want, other resorts upto 3 hours.
