WE arrive at WDW for 6 nights at OKW next Sunday morning. We we're planning on going to DS first thing on Sunday morning. Do we gave to go to OKW to check in before our Magic Bands are activated or can we go straight to the park before checking in? Our MBs arrived a few weeks ago.

Also, is there any draw back at all to online checkin?

We always check in first, drop our bags off & then make our way to the parks. We have never had any issues with online check-in. We will be doing this exact thing again next week when we hit the parks after a 4 day cruise on the Dream

If you mean in order to have your tickets work that doesn't have anything to do with the resort stay so you can just go right to the park. (caveat - depending on the ticket. If it requires activation such as an AP then you'd need to stop at a GS window).

I would check-in first, less chance of them switching your room assignment for someone who complains about theirs.
