I've been reading for a bit and can't find this answer, so sorry if it is a repeat

For rides that need you to transfer from a wheelchair to the ride vehicle, what happens to the wheelchair? Does it sit at the boarding area?

It varies by ride. In some cases there's an area to park the chair where you do the transfer (generally when you're entering from near the exit) and in the other cases the CMs move the chair to the ride exit. Regardless, the chair is by the exit so you'll have it nearby when you get off the ride.
