Sorry...another FoP timing question

Two adults going to AK the last week of January on a Sunday and staying off-site. Assuming we will not get a FP for FoP at 30 days out but will keep trying.

If we don't secure a FP in advance, what time should we arrive at the AK parking lot in order to RD FoP? 7:00? Park opens at 9:00 am - no EMH that day.

Somewhere there was a link posted with very detailed instructions for rope dropping FoP but I can't locate it.

For a 9am opening id get there by 7:45 at the latest to lineup

If you have the ability to be there at park close and get in line right then everything I've read suggests you will wait less than getting there way before park opening.

Unfortunately we only have one day at AK and we are doing ROL that night.

It depends on your date (and what Disney finally does with the park hours.)
Many times RoL runs and ends well before DAK closing time.

I was able to get a same day FP+ for two people for FoP. I just kept refreshing while we were eating lunch, and suddenly there was a 2:55 PM FP+. I can't guarantee that you would have the same success, but I'm living proof that it can happen with persistent refreshing.

Rope drop can be the busiest time of the day for this attraction. I checked one day last month and the wait times were up to 210 within 10 minutes of park opening. The waits were down to 30 within 10 minutes of park closing on the same day.

Just keep in mind that posted wait times are intentionally exaggerated at night to discourage late riders.
