I must say I hve tried on Crocs and just do not get it. They seem as if they would be squishy when your feet sweat and you would get lots of blisters. I know people love them but I just do not understand how they are comfortable. What am I missing? They are rubbery plastic and I do not understand how they let your feet breath especially in the heat of Florida in July. :confused3

I agree with you. I think they'd be good for people in professions where they have to stand on their feet all day on hard concrete or something, but I can't see how they're good for walking. There's no spring to them at all, and after walking for about an hour, I start to feel as if I'm having to work harder -- like walking on a mattress.

Just not enough support for me. I'll stick with my sneakers and my Tevas. :thumbsup2

Well, I guess like any other shoe, they work for some and not for others.

I used to wear Birks till I found Crocs. I find them quite comfy to walk in for hours, either at work (nurse) or at WDW. There's a lot of "give" to them, and they aren't rubber exactly...I think they call them polymer or something like that, so your feet don't sweat.

I know you are right but I just kept feeling like I was missing the boat...

I was skeptical too, but I'm absolutely sold on these things. I live in Florida and wear sandals ALOT because I can't stand sweaty feet. I have no problems whatsoever with my feet sweating. My DS (bless his heart) has the sweatiest feet ever - he's only 5, but YUK!! - his Crocs are his only shoes that DON'T stink!

As far as the comfort factor, we went to an amusement park a week after I bought my first pair. We were walking for 3 days, and typically, the backs of legs are SOOO sore after the first day. My legs felt great with the Crocs.

I do have to wear them as flip flops and not use the back strap if I'm going to be walking alot. If I use the strap, then it will start to rub on the top of my foot. It's never made a blister, but I noticed it pretty quickly and moved the strap around.

They're my most favorite shoes. And I love the flip flops too. I'm not even going to admit how many of these things we have between the four of us. My whole family loves them.

I just bought DD some knock-offs from Payless. She wanted those because they had the swirled colors and she liked those better then the solid crocs. I am going to try them just to see how comfy they are. Not being fitted shoes I am guessing they will make my knees hurt like mule type shoes do though. I saw that Payless had some that looked more like a sandal, with buckles to hold the shoes in place though.

I don't know...personally crocs make my feet sweaty and sticky and stinky, so I avoid them like the plague. :teeth:

I just love my tevas and my merrels...

I did the same thing. Bought a pair of black ones from Payless, then I decided that they were comfortable and got a pair of tan Crocs from Dillards.

I have Plantar Faciitis, and I haven't picked up my orthotics because the crocs have been great. I did an event two days ago for work and I wore my slides since they went better with what I was wearing. Here I am, two days later and my feet are hurting. DH even said I should have worn my crocs!

My kids are bugging me for their own and DH wants an orange pair, a la Mario Batali! They figure that if I'm not talking about my feet hurting, these things must really be good.
