I have been trying to figure out what kind of bag to bring for our trip in November, my kids (4 & 6) are big enough that we are only bringing one umbrella stroller, but are small enough that they normally don't carry much. As such, how much do you carry in the park? We are staying on site, so should I just plan on a couple bottles of water, sunscreen, camera, phone, money. Or should I plan on bringing change of clothes, sweatshirt, etc. Obviously, for the first, I could get away with the VB Hipster or Slingshot, but if I need to add clothes, I am thinking I should just do a backpack. Any thoughts, opinions?

Thanks

You could probably leave off the water. You can ask at any place that sells cups of soda for a cup of ice water and they will give it to you free. This saved us quite a bit of weight. Don't forget to bring in some Tylenol. My husband and I both got headaches partway through the day and it was nice to have some on hand instead of having to pay outrageous prices for it inside the park. I used a lanyard with a pouch to carry our tickets, room keys, fast passes, etc. You can get waterproof ones that are big enough to carry your money or credit card, as well, and that would free up your hands. Since you are staying on-site, you can get away with not carrying quite as much since you can always go back to your room if you need a change of clothes. The type of bag is up to you - we used a backpack that we could either leave on the stroller seat, hang off the back of the stroller, or take with us on the ride and it worked well for us.

I have a small backpack like purse that I use for all vacations. It is about 12" tall, 8" wide and 6" thick. I can easily fit the basics: money, water, camera, sun screen, small snack etc. I also have to carry an epi pen and benedryl. My kids are 4 & 7 and we will bring the old beat up stroller just in case. For heavier things that I do not care about I will just hang a plastic bag on the stroller. Things like water or a snack. When we are just walking and not leaving the stroller I can loop the backpack straps on the stroller.
