Well I see we have the October increase today - pass going to $1079 from $999.

As I’ve noted before, I’m torn on venting here… but that’s 8% vs inflation that is currently running in mid 2% range annualized.

Disney really seems committed to sharp and continuous price increases - it may well be the right move for maximizing the financial performance of the parks given how unique and powerful their offering is relative to competitors. But each announcement they make reinforces my decision to try Aulani and Hilton Head and take a few years off from the parks.

Just pay DVC an extra $99 then use 95 vacation points to get one, then just use the buy one get one deal on OTUP to refill your point balance. It’s a great deal if you don’t think about it.
is it really 95 points to get 1 pass?

Well I need 5 APs to come to the world so first I’d have to take a home equity loan to buy enough DVC points for that many passes! Assuming 95 doesn’t become 103 at the new rate of plus 8%.

We can disagree about that program and still not become snarky toward others who view it differently.

To OP…that certainly is a pretty big increase. I can’t remember if it is more or less than what they did the last time?

CMs have told owners who have asked that it will be 80 for renewals and 95 for a new pass.

Nothing official has been posted officially yet.

ETA: Hopefully the point amounts given by CMs was done with the knowledge the price was rising.

Last time it was a $30 increase from $969 to $999. Possible that was atypically small for the October increase because sales just restarted in April 2023 and went from the prior price of $899 to $969.

I am sure Disney has some metric that shows how many passes are sold and the “value” that pass provided. What I mean by that is the cost differential between how much they paid for the pass vs how much they would’ve paid if they paid park admission each time. They must believe the value will still be there and enough people will buy it

I wonder if the pass will stay at 95 points indefinitely, or will inflate over time.
I would think the former.

Do the date based tickets tend to increase at the same time as the AP? I’m already expecting to pay $745 x 3 for spring break but I’d buy today if needed.

We are stuck buying the Incredipass bc we travel between Christmas and NYE. 7-Day park hopper for that week alone would cost me $850…makes the $1299 not look so bad (or at least that’s what I tell myself 🤣🤣)
Pre-Covid we used to get a discount on the Incredipass.

Heck, it wasn't even 10 years ago when DVC gave the awesome $399 deal on the Premier Annual Pass (what is now the Incredipass). How times change...

My feeling is that Disney doesn't need to announce increases for regular date-based tickets, because they could just increase a day here, increase another day there, and if you weren't watching the prices on those days, you'd never know. Yes, they do announce base price increases - they announced prices for 2025 November and December - but for the ordinary tickets, they may not say anything. So I buy our tickets as soon as I can, when our dates are firm.

Wow - I didn’t know that…maybe better that I was blissfully unaware.

I find Disney totally tone deaf. All these price hikes announced this week on the same week epic goes on sale, really dumb move Disney

Epic is going to 100% cut into Disney revenue and draw customers away. All Disney is doing with these price increases is make it easier for families to pick universal over Disney in 2025

I would typically spend a week in sept exclusively at Disney. That’s now cut down to two days while rest of week will be at universal

If epic lives up to expectations and I think it will exceed expectations personally, Disney is going to see a meaningful hit to park revenue
