Hi everyone I was wondering if any of you have a sorcerer hat for trade. I will give you gold mickey ears for them.

disivyco yes gold ears can only be obtained in the park but sorceror ears can not be obtained at all anymore they are a beta item and are very rare.

My sister had the sorcerer's hat and traded it for the burning window. Does that sound fair? Are equally as rare? Or is one more rare than the other?

I think a fair trade is any one you are willing to make

If you sister was happy getting the burning window for the Socerer's hat, then it was a good trade

I agree jelly. A fair trade is one where both sides come away happy, nothing more.

That being said, i think anything that is not available anymore (i.e. the sorcerer hat) will continue to be rare and valuable (if anything virtual can really be "valuable"). Whereas the quest items (like the flaming window), eventually will not be. Remember - Every day in the parks people are doing these quests, and then coming home and entering codes. As every quest is completed, as every day goes by, those quest items become less and less rare in vmk and will eventually be semi-commonplace.

I think disivyco/webmasterKelsie's offer is a fair one. Heck i have even seen sorcerer ears simply given away to people.

so you never know.

I think it's good to remember that a lot of VMKers are children. We all know they don't have any idea what items are worth, they only know they would like them. DisIvyCo had been very generous in VMK with disers as some have been with her. It' not that she wants items because the are valuable and is looking for trading leverage, she wants them because she wants to wear them.

I am also not a collector of the rare and have given a lot of items away or traded for items that are not as valuable just to make someone happy.

I do not allow her to trade with anyone outside of the DIS so, this is why she posted here.

Karen and Mike, would removing all of our offer and putting up 'Teleportation, be a good trade?

no, i think your offer was fine as it was. to me, at least.

Actually if my intent was misleading i apologize, actually what i was trying to get across to her was to NOT offer the moon and stars for something when one day it may just fall in her lap. I hate to see people trade everything they have for 1 thing they want. Which is why i started the "want thread" so that people here on the dis could help each other, if they had an extra this or that.

Some people like to horde. i have seen people with 8 (or more) lion pins, or teleportations, and hey if that is what makes them happy then ok, who am i to judge. That's just not me. But I digress. Personally, if had a set of sorcerer ears for disivy i wouldnt have to be typing at all, she would have them already.

So i am sorry if you felt i was saying she needed to offer more, or something like teleportation as that was definitely not my intent.

Kelsie, wish I could tell you if teleportation would be a good offer, but unfortunately, I just don't know.

I guess it's really about who has the ears, and what they want for them. I do know these are a difficult item to get--unbeknownst to me, there were four people working on getting some sorcerer ears for me because it was the one thing I really wanted. I don't know what the final deal was for them, but I know they had a hard time getting them. And once you start wearing them, you'll get several pop up boxes from people asking you to trade them.

I would think a better way of approaching the trade would be to say you are looking for the ears, and see what the other person wants for them to see if you are willing to give them what they want.

I really hope that they offer something like the sorcerer's ears again so that folks who haven't been playing the game will have the opportunity to buy them.

NO, what I said had nothing to do with what you posted. What is being said makes sense DisIvyCo was feeling really bad because she thought people felt she was trying to get something for nothing when she really only wanted the ears and had no idea they were so rare and valuable.

She loves VMK and so many DIsers have been great to her, I really appreciate that.

Jelly i agree, i'd like to see them released again in some form. If they wont put them out as-is again, maybe put out a blue set with silver, instead of white stuff on them. Or, if they want to tie it into the 50th, a gold set of sorcerer ears to go along with the regular gold ears?

It's a fair trade as far as I was concerned, when I traded gold ears for
a Sorcerer's hat with someone on my friends' list. (She was one of the
Mickey Castle Dancers with me at closing.)

She wanted gold ears, and I wanted the Sorcerer ears to wear.
We both ended up happy.

I totally agree with the "if you are happy, then it is a good trade" because the thing I enjoy most in vmk is the chance to make other people happy. I know that there are some people out there would take vmk very seriously and try endlessly to obtain that "special" item. So, I have given away a few "valuable" things to my "friends" on vmk and other things to wanting people as well. For example: I was finally able to obtain the Space Bubble and immeditely following I gave it away to someone I know who had been looking for the helmet for a long time. The kid was so happy and I was even happier to know that the kid was happy. So in my mind it was a good trade. I have also given away fireworks pins and such. Got to believe in magic right?
