I booked my trip for 5/25-6/4. Then I found out that we would be there during Gay Days.
Then I rescheduled for the last week of March. Thinking it was far enough away from Easter. Then I found out that the UG has rated the days of my trip a level 10 for crowds.
I am not even sure I want to go now.
My only other choice is the middle of June.
My kids are too old to take out of school. My high schooler takes honors classes and it would be too difficult to make up the work.

We understand the frustration. We are planning our trip for the end of May, got the school calendar and see now that school is not out until May 27th, earlier with no snow days. Then we heard from someone that the teachers are voting Tuesday whether or not to go on strike. If that happens who knows when they will be out or if we will even be able to go to WDW next year!

Sorry for your frustration. Hope you figure something out. :goodvibes

I hope you figure it out. It sucks that that happened. I would just try to go even if there are crowds you can utilize your time there with fast passes etc. Hope you have a great trip whenever you go.

We have been during Gay days (the 1st time by not knowing and the 2nd time because of our experience the 1st time and that being the only week we all get off) and it isn't all that crowded and my teens weren't embarrassed and there were only families and polite groups of same sex people. Avoid MK on Saturday (you can check the suggested itinerary and move around parks at other days) and you will have a good time. :earsgirl:

Is there any way you can go in August? Or are you kids back in school? Mid to late August dies down quite a bit...

I'm sorry you are having a hard time planning your trip. I know how it can be. My kids are getting older and it's getting tougher and tougher to figure out when to go.

Good luck.

Thanks for the encouragement.

We start school here mid-August so that is out.

We have been once when they were younger 7,5 & 3. We went in September. I took them out of school then. None of them remember the trip. I remember it. They have been wanting to go. This will be a reward trip for them. They have been helping us to put in our landscaping. They are 15,13 & 11. They don't know we are planning the trip. I am sure it won't matter to them how crowded it is. They will be thrilled to be there. We will be spending 8 days in the park so hopefully that will be enough time.

The week of Gay Days is fine - I would stick with that time if it is the best for your family. Like the previous poster stated, just avoid the MK on the scheduled Saturday because of the crowd levels & you will be fine.

We've been a few times at that time period & the heat is not quite as bad as later in the summer.

We went in mid June a few years back and while it was a little rainy overall it was a good time to go, I think. It never got really crowded, and the rain chased out what crowds there were- usually it let up after 20 minutes or so and we had emptied out parks to play in. Just bring lots of disposible ponchos!
