yes, i'm asking advice lol, sorry.
my friend just asked me out today, i said yes. :)
but seriously, i thought this would be easier!
i have no idea what to do, how to tell my dad, and where i should hang out with him besides school.
help would be greatly appreciated lol, thanks :)

Yay Dev!
Well since you're older I think you're dad should be happy for you. I know how it is though, to tell your dad about a boyfriend, because you never know what they're gonna say. lol Just bring it up casually, that's what I do. lol

Hang out at each others houses, movies, mall, go out to eat somewhere something like that. lol

Hahah, I know he'll like the guy it's just WEIRD. He's met him once before
Houses? It's still kinda awkward, I mean we've been friends for a few years, bu t I've never been to his house, he's been to mine but that was homecoming night with other people. I think it's best to start out with group things lol.

I was 14 XD *is lame*

Take my advice on this, DON'T date your friends. It always ends badly. I know this for a fact. I dated on of my friends for a couple of months, the relationship ended badly, and we aren't as close now.

And I have never directly told my dad when I was dating a guy... I tell my mom and she tells him XD

Well then it should be easier to tell your dad since he's already met him. lol But I know what you mean about the awkwardness, it's just different when you're "together" as a couple. Maybe you should just let him hang at your house until you feel comfortable going over to his. Orrr maybe you could do like group dates. Group dates are always fun (:

I was 13 (: But now I have a boyfriend of 5 months <3
yeahh just hang out at the movies, bowling, dinner, anything cute.
I know how it feels, I was in your postion once. I'm 14 1/2 now.
Yeah, your dad should be fine about the fact that you have a boyfriend :)

dev, how old are you? do either of you drive? that makes it easier.

if you don't date your friends, who are you supposed to date? perfect strangers?

That came out wrongish XD I meant don't date your CLOSE friends.
i think you take that risk of breaking up when you enter any relationship, but i've dated best friends before. and yeah, we broke up, but it wasn't detrimental to my life. if you're mature and don't get caught up in stupid drama, you can stay friends after a break up.

That's definitely not true....
My boyfriend and I have been best friends since we were like.. 5.
And we've been going out for 4 years.

well, this is only from your experience..
We don't know each other that well, oddly, so we still have a lot to learn.
My mom would tell my dad but she sorta doesn't like talking to him lol (divorced)

I'm 16, I can drive (no friends until april 1st though), he still has his permit bcs he's lazy. lol

My first boyfriend, I got this past summer. I was fourteen (now 15), he was 17 (now 18). We 'talked' for liker ever, and only dated a few weeks. But since he could drive we went out like every other night during the summer; movies, bowling, his house, my house, the river, blah-blah.. Looking back I didn't really even like him that much, just a summer fling. We're really good friends now. My boyfriend now is my first actual boyfriend, that I truly like a whole lot! We've been dating since October. Uhmm, we're both fifteen so when we 'go out' we have to get our parents to take us, which isn't at all as bad as it sounds, it's actually fun! I'm super close with his parents, and all of his friends, so group dates are a blast! Other than going out, we just chill at the house. It was easy telling my parents, because my mom grew up with his dad and aunt, and they're still all friends. Now the only time we can see each other is at his baseball games, which totally sucks :( but it's all good, I love baseball! <3 You said yall are friends, I do believe.. hmm.. Me and Garrett were also good friends, we went to school together from prek-5th. Then this past summer when someone we went to school with had passed away ( ) we met up at the funeral and got each others number to keep in touch, and we became good friends. and then we started liking each other.. so *Bill kinda brought us together! :)

*bill- name changed; that was our friend that passed away :sad1:

none of my friend obeyed that no friend rule lol. the day my friend emily got her license, three people were in her car and we took a random road trip to a town a county over. ;) don't follow my example. laws are made for a reason.

i'd go to the movies and dinner. thats a generic date, but it allows you time to talk over dinner.

hahaha, my dad would kill me if i was driving other people.

okay, now is this his job to set it up or what..

Kindergarten. ^__^

He even left me this little box ornament on my desk before Christmas. It had a chocolate bear inside. And I actually still have the little box ornament thing too. <33

Really tho, I haven't had any official boyfriends. I'm not (and never have-not in elementary, middle or high school) in the mood to play the game of have a boyfriend, have him cheat on you. Get another boyfriend, you or him just likes you as a friend and you break up again. Boy that cheats on you asks for you back and you comply. He cheats again. You break up. You find another that you 'like' and the whole cycle just keeps going and going and going and going. I watch relationships like crazy (more than I think people think I do. Most that know me just think I'm this little innocent, clueless person. But I've honestly been paying attention to how relationships work since the six grade.)

In order to at least minimize the issues (that I've experienced first hand through my friends. WARNING: NEVER GET CAUGHT BETWEEN TWO OF YOUR FRIENDS (who just so happen to be together) FIGHTING! IT IS NOT A FUN EXPERIENCE! ;>__<) I want to be actual friends with guys first. Get to know them that way, have fun and if something ends up being there after a while then SLOWLY move in that direction.

xD Watch. I'll be like those girls on tv, who can tell other people relationship advice like crazy, but when it eventually ends up in my lap I'll turn clueless and not know what in the world I'm doing. Yup. And then I'll start babbling like an idiot because I'm nervous (which I do all the time. I'm a victim of my own nature). And I'll trip over myself...and then I'll freak out, get mad at myself and want to go hide somewhere.

*is lame* :guilty:

Who ever ends up with me in the end is going to have to be extremely patient.
