Not that I'm actually going to have it done. So why do keep thinking about it? Perhaps I'm just trying to hang on to my youth.......

Mine is my upper ear - in the cartilage.

I think about it all the time, but then I remember that I really don't like pain and according to 5 people whom I trust not to lie to me and have had it done, saying it is the worst pain they have ever had and continued for months while it healed, just reinforces the fact that I ain't gonna get it done.

Now my 14 year old DD, she is really begging for hers to be done. I told her at 16 we would think about it, but I am really hoping she out grows it.

It hurts and it's a witch to keep clean. You're better off skipping that portion of your lost youth. :)

I did that and honestly, it didnt hurt. It stung and it was sore till it healed but no REAL pain. Love it too! Do it.:thumbsup2

I have this done...I also have my tragus and belly button done. The one that hurt the most was my tragus (that's the small piece of cartiledge between your ear and cheek, it's not anything nasty LOL), the cartiledge in my upper ear didn't hurt that much at all. It just sort of "popped" when it went thru, sounded weird but not much pain, it didn't take long to heal either BUT I highly recommend going to a piercing shop to have it done with a needle. I had it done with a gun and that was horrible, that was painful and it never healed, I finally had to take it out because it was so swollen...I almost couldn't get the earring out....but the needle piercing was very easy. And I do not tolerate pain very well at all.....

I feel this way about tatoos. I want one, even picked a couple I like out but I am pretty darn sure I have lived all this time without one and didn't miss it!

I know that didn't answer the question, just wanted to let you know you aren't the only one chasing the fountain of youth...:lmao:

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo but I doubt I will. I'm way too old for that.

Do it!!!!! You're never too old! :goodvibes

I've had many, many piercings (nose, eyebrow, industrial, cartilage, earlobes, daith, conch & sideburn) and the nose is the one I've kept the longest. It's the easiest. It was one of the more painful ones (sideburn > nose > rest of the ears > eyebrow) but still, it's only a second's worth of pain. And then it's over with. You can handle ANYTHING for a second.

And the aftercare was so simple. There wasn't the soreness like you get with cartilage piercings (I couldn't sleep on my right side for almost 4 months after the industrial) and it didn't get infected or inflamed every time I got a cold like my eyebrow & my sideburn did.

Plus it's adorable. :cutie:

ETA: I've been craving a new piercing or tattoo for a couple months now... just can't settle on what I want (or come up with the funds).

I think they are super cute, expecially with a little hoop! My youngest sister has one and it looks great on her. I'd get one, but as a school teacher, I don't think it would go over well! Go for it!

Although sometimes they look cute like on a woman from India were it is cultural and looks somewhat exotic I have a friend with one and we call it her sparkly booger.:lmao:

I wore a glass plug in mine when I taught. It makes it look like you've got a huge blackhead on your nose (since it's clear glass you can see through it to the darkness of the inside of your nostril), but the kids never caught on that it was a nose piercing. It set flush right on my nose. And it is summer vacation... plenty of time to heal it up before school starts. ;) Just saying!

My DD had it done a few months ago and ended up removing it. I guess the area kept getting traumatized because she ended up getting this weird red bump in the area and she did all sorts of stuff to make it go away. The only thing that worked was removing the piercing.

Sounds like there are mixed reviews. Even if I weren't too old, I'd still be wayyy too chicken. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's trying to hang on to a bit of their youth, or just thinks it would be a cool thing to do. :woohoo:

I had my nose pierce twice. The first time I was on a plane a few days after and the ring came off and I couldn't find it. by the time we got there it has closed. Then I did it again. I took it off the day of my wedding and it never went back in, I let it close.

Well, I suppose it's cheaper than a red Corvette and leaving your spouse for the 18 year old version.

Finding this post triggered me remembering in a dream last night I was looking into getting my nose pierced (chosing the nose ring, etc.). I have no idea why I dreamed about that b/c it's not anything I've ever thought about doing. I do have my belly buttoned pierced, and that was truly painful enough for me.
