Sooo annoyed with Jet Blue!!

Question on the refund policy if the changes is 2+ hours. Is the 2+ hours cumulative? In other words, our flight changed by 90 minutes and I accepted the changes. If it changes again and puts us more than 2 hours from our ORIGINAL flight time, would I be eligible? Or would it have to be another 2 hours from the new time?

Hoping it doesn't come to this but good to have the info just in case. Thanks.:goodvibes

Once you accepted the new flight, the original flight time doesn't matter. The change in the new flight time is what counts.

But don't give up too easily. Write to top management if needed to get a refund if desired if the cumula5tive time went 9over the trheshold such as over 2 hours.

I had the same thing happen to me last year, and I had the same experince, they moved our flight 1.5 hours.

It was a slow day at work and I was still upset about the situation, so I googled "jetblue CEO email address" and I wrote and email (I was very polite and didn't use any bad language) about the whole experince. Within 3 hours, I had a call from some escaltions desk willing to give me a whole refund on my tickets, for both legs of my trip.

I can't make any promises that it will work, but it is free to try.

OP, I know you're frustrated that you're losing some park time on your last day, but time changes happen with all airlines. Say JB refunds your return flight and you book your return flight through Delta instead. Then a week before your flight, Delta changes the time to something even worse than the original time?

I know you're unhappy about losing 1.5 hrs of your last day, but booking with another airline isn't necessarily going to have a better outcome since they all change flight times.

Good luck and enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

I agree that it never hurts to ask, even if what you want is against official policy. Sometimes they bend the rules.

Anybody who purchases a refundable fare is due a refund, absolutely. Chances are, the OP doesnt fall into that category. Airlines that will refund the ticket purchase price on a nonrefundable ticket for any same-day schedule change on their or an airport's part are being overly generous.

The Sym's chain motto is particularly appropriate here: "An educated consumer is our best customer".

I'm not sure in which department you worked while at the corporate offices of an airline, but it wasn't the legal department. As a current airline employee who only makes it to headquarters once or twice a month, I can assure you that the contract of carriage incorporated by reference into every airfare purchase made provides an effective defense to any such small claims action. But hey... knock yourself out! :goodvibes

Absolutely not.

Anything more than the smallest change, and the passenger is owed a refund, just like how if a flight is delayed, the passenger can request a refund at the airport and leave. Airlines know this. Take it up with a supervisor is an agent won't refund. If that doesn't work, ask for the address to the legal department since you'd like to file a case in small claims court. Just the threat if that works, because airlines know they would lose.

This is a significant change and the passenger is owed a refund if she pleases. Of course, that doesn't meant she is going to find a good fare on another carrier.

I learned a lot working at an airline in corporate. One of those things is that airlines, like all major companies, do their darndest to convince people that one thing is the law, when it's anything but. Many airline COC go against the most basic of contract law principles, and in a court, co tract law wins. But nobody bothers taking an airline to court for something so trivial. And the few who try simply get everything settled in their favor, in terms of a refund.
